QM Talks@CBPF: Renato Portugal – 29.04, 16:30h

Quantum Information Group @ CBPF

Dear All,

after a small break, our QM Talks@CBPF are back! Next week, Renato Portugal from LNCC will tell us about quantum walks without coins! This is very connected to research that we are developing at the qig@CBPF, and I’m sure the discussions will be quite interesting and useful. I hope to see you there! Details below.

Speaker: Renato Portugal (LNCC)

Title: Coinless Quantum Walk Models

Coordinates: room 601D, CBPF. 29.04, 16:30h

Abstract: There are many versions of quantum walk (QW) models that are obtained by different quantization process. Most of them do not use coins, at least explicitly. In this talk, we consider the less known QW models, called staggered QW and Szegedy’s QW, discuss their structure and possible equivalence. We present some results regarding the moments of the probability distribution and discuss their relation with cellular automata.
